Our First Garden

Our first garden attempt went fairly well. Most of the things we planted came up AND we planted the garden in a really cool pattern.

What we learned from our experience:
  • the plants at the bottom of the water ditch grew better because of all the water that collects at the bottom,
  • buy peppers as plants for a garden, not as seeds,
  • spread out the carrots,
  • we only need two plants of squash, not seven,
  • weed continuously, and
  • (from Steve) if you are going to do something with your wife, she is in charge :)

Harvest time

We had a good harvest. It was so fun to have this project with Steve. It will be fun to do it again!

  1. So completely proud of you. You (and Steve) rock. I want to eat some veggies from the Pickering garden.

  2. Wow! Good job! Isn't it just so exciting to watch a garden grow?

Kudos to Steve for being quick to learn the obvious, and man enough to admit it. :o)
